OMS Celebrates a Successful Year

As we are wrapping up our year, we just wanted to share what we’ve accomplished so far in 2022. With the help of our faithful supporters and donors, we’ve completed the first season of our OMS Podcast “Knot Today” and have just started our second season. We used this platform to help encourage, uplift, and motivate those who have been tired of finding themselves in the same situations repeatedly. Our goal is to inspire, influence, and make an impact in the lives of those who desire to live a life of purpose and pursue excellence in all areas of their lives. We have a total of over 220 plays so far and are growing daily.

We had our first successful OMS Annual Run in Dallas, Texas. We completed a 5K with over 65 registered runners and 79 contributors to our event. We passed out goodie bags and gave out an OMS Staple, our biscuits! We had such great feedback we are already in the planning stages of our 2nd Annual Biscuit Run.

Again, due to the overwhelming support of our run we were not only able to achieve our initial goal of one $500 scholarship, but we tripled that goal and awarded three $500 Scholarships to three very deserving students. We are grateful for what God is doing through OMS.

In addition to that we took the initiative to take the course and become Certified Health Ambassadors through the Ashlin Healthworks. We are now able to participate in health initiatives in your community.

As we celebrate our 3rd Birthday this month it means so much to us to be fulfilling all the things that were important to our loved one Ollie Mae Smith, who always wanted to encourage someone to do their best. Which we continue to do through our Podcast. She wanted to be healthy and help others be healthy all the while offering some of the best food you would ever taste in your life. If you just ate though and didn’t exercise, she would call you fat lol. We won’t be fat because we might eat the biscuit, but we are going to run and remind others of that at our OMS Annual Biscuit Run. We also remind people of good health and to take care of themselves as certified health ambassadors.

Lastly, anyone who did well and followed through on what she said, was always told by her “I am going to give you a big nickel”. Our $500 scholarship is our representation of that big nickel. Awarding young people who were doing well was one of the great joys of her life. As a matter of fact, we have never seen her smile as big doing anything else as when she was excited about one of her children or grandchildren achieving something positive.
